Is it weird to be somewhat impressed with fat people who exercise?
I mean, when I’m chubby and out of shape it’s REALLY difficult for me to run a lap without lying on the floor feeling like my legs are jello and my heart a gonna pound out of my chest.
But for someone who’s really overweight and just started? I can’t even imagine how much more difficult it could be. And ones who persevere despite feeling like death-respect, man.
CRAZY-EASY GRILLED SOY GINGER RIBS
Serves about 6 — but is easily scaled up or down
Short ribs (about a pound per person — enough for leftovers), cut “flanken” style.
For the marinade
- garlic, one whole head peeled and chopped
- soy sauce, enough to cover the ribs when placed in a large Ziploc bag (so, about 2-3 cups — it’s hard to use too much, so don’t be shy)
For easy sides (optional)
scallions, two or three bunches, for the grill
sesame oil, a drizzle (or any other oil or meat juice)
sesame seeds (a handful)
cooked white rice (is there is a kitchen or Chinese takeout place nearby?)
